Asian day festival

Asian day festival was held in the playground of Al-Jalaa sports city in 17/NOV/2019. Eight teams of clubs and private academies were invited, with each team including ten players. eight sets of basic skills and small games were applied, and players were divided on games equally. Also, a number of plays were held. Total number of kids participants are 80 kids.

Schools’ championships

In preparation for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education and the Syrian Arab Football Federation, school tournaments were held in several governorates in cooperation with the Grass Roots Department of the Syrian Football Association

Junior Football Festival

The Department of Physical Education in Damascus Governorate, in cooperation with the Grass Roots Department of the Syrian Football Association, held a school football tournament for girls under 15 years old. 12 teams from different schools in Damascus participated in the tournament, they played on the stadiums of Tishreen Sports City in Damascus Governorate.

Home Football Skills Competition

Grass Roots Department, in cooperation with the Women’s Football Division of the Syrian Arab Football Federation, organized a competition for individual football skills to continue football activities even with the imposition of a curfew due to the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19).

Training course for the Grass Roots trainers

The Syrian Arab Football Federation / Technical Department, in cooperation between the Grass Roots and Coaches Education Departments with the Ministry of Education, set up the first preparatory training course for males to qualify academic staffs to engage in the field of football training 74 students from the Physical Education Institute participated in the course to prepare male teachers in Damascus. The course lasted for a week and included a set of theoretical and practical lectures in terms of how to deal with children and teaching them basic principles and skills of football, in addition to lectures of psychology.

Training course for the Grass Roots female trainers

Similar to the training course of the Grass Roots male coaches for students of the Institute of Physical Education in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Football Federation / Technical Department, in cooperation between the Grass Roots department and the Trainers’ Education Department with the Ministry of Education, established the first introductory training course for females to qualify female academic staffs to engage in the field of football training. 38 female students from the Institute of Physical Education participated in the preparation of teachers in Damascus, which lasted for a week and included a set of theoretical and practical lectures in terms of how to deal with the child and teaching him the basic principles and skills in football, in addition to lectures of psychology.

The first Grass Roots festival in Aleppo

The first Grass Roots department Festival was organized in Aleppo, where the festival was held at the Evangelical Church stadium, hosted by Al-Ahly Football School. The party was organized for children divided into two categories. The first category was for children born in 2010-2011, in which 60 children participated. The second category was for children born in 2009, in which 30 children participated, as 90 children participated in the festival. A competition was organized in a league format, where two teams from each category alternately compete to qualify for the final rounds.

the Grass Roots teams’ championship

The competition was announced to different cities in 2019 and they were invited to organize a tournament for the Grass Roots born in 2008-2009 in cities and select a city team from them 12 teams from 12 Syrian cities participated in the tournament.

Arbitration Placement Course (Arbitration of the Grass Roots)

the Grass Roots Department, in cooperation with the main committee of referees in the Federation in the Syrian Arab Football Federation and the Institutes of Physical Education to prepare teachers in Damascus, organized a placement course for male and female referees from the two institutes. 40 male and female students participated in the course, with an average of 22 female and 12 male students. The session was coordinated by the Asian lecturer Zakaria kanat.

Registration in the AFC charter for the Grass Roots

the Grass Roots department worked on preparing and processing the registration file in the AFC Charter for the Grass Roots at the Bronze level, where the required information was uploaded and the tasks to be performed on the (AFCAS) program were completed.
